Crime Report: Smithtown and Commack Home Burglaries
The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
The Suffolk County Police Department reported these arrests and incidents in Smithtown during Jan. 4 - 10.
Michael Duffus, 47, of Commack was arrested Jan. 10 in Smithtown and charged with three counts of second degree burglary. He is accused of burglarizing homes in Commack and Smithtown.
Kathy Tuifel, 53, who has no known address, was arrested Jan. 10 in Smithtown and charged with second degree burglary. She is accused of breaking into a home in Commack.
Salvatore Marotta, Jr., 45, of Amityville was arrested Jan. 10 in Smithtown and charged with second degree burglary. He is accused of breaking into a home in Commack.
Thomas Scally, 36, of Selden and Michael Bowe, 35, of St. James were arrested Jan. 10 in St. James and charged with fifth degree criminal possession of marijuana. Reports indicate they were sitting in a car at the time of the arrest.
Steven Sugarman, 41, of Quincy was arrested Jan. 9 in Smithtown and charged with second degree grand larceny. He is accused of stealing roll-off containers from E-Pak Manufacturing in Fort Salonga.
Patrick Falk, 19, of Smithtown was arrested Jan. 7 in Smithtown and charged with second degree possession of a forged instrument. He is accused of possessing an altered driver's license while driving in St. James.
Lee Colfin, 30, of Nesconset, Christopher Loeb, 25, of Smithtown and Francis Loeb, 30, of Smithtown were arrested Jan. 7 in Nesconset and each charged with one count of third degree grand larceny and five counts of criminal possession of stolen property.
Brendan Toomey, 27, of St. James was arrested Jan. 7 in Smithtown and charged with loitering and unlawful use of a controlled substance. He was allegedly sitting in a vehicle in the Smithtown Municipal Parking Lot near Bellemeade Avenue at the time of the arrest.
Egbert Profitt, 42, of Huntington, John Chiarella, 33, and David Jacobs, 26, both of Nesconset, were arrested Jan. 7 in Nesconset and each charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of a hypodermic instrument. The incident occurred on Woodview Drive in Nesconset.
Alexa Avellino, 20, and Marisa Chayet, 21, both of Nesconset, were arrested Jan. 7 in Nesconset and charged with loitering, unlawful use of a controlled substance and possession of a hypodermic instrument. Reports indicate they were in a vehicle on Lake Drive in Nesconset at the time of the arrest.
Matthew Hagenbruch, 19, of St. James was arrested Jan. 4 in St. James and charged with disorderly conduct. He is accused of repeatedly using obscene language while walking on Woodlawn Avenue in St. James.
