Woman Stuck in Car After Head of the Harbor Water Main Break

Woman reportedly could not open the car door while stuck in four feet of water.

St. James firefighters removed a woman stuck in her car surrounded by water after a water main break Monday morning on a Head of the Harbor street.

According to the St. James Fire District, the woman reported she was trapped at 5:40 a.m. Monday on Evan Court in Head of the Harbor. The fire district said she tried to drive through the water that she believed was not deep, which turned out to be roughly four-feet deep. The water gathered in the road due to a water main break.

The fire district said the woman was unable to push open the door to the car to get out. Two firefighters then worked through the water and opened the door, bringing her to dry land.
