St. James Pizzeria Under New Ownership

Frankie's Pizza is out and Lorenzo's Pizza has taken over.

What was Frankie's Pizza at 600 Middle Country Road in St. James is now under new ownership and a brand new name – Lorenzo's Pizza.  The eatery is owned by Joe D'Simone, who has 40 years experience working in pizzerias, and Scott Rosenberg, who owns multiple other pizzerias under the same name as well as numerous Ralphs's Italian Ice locations. The location was taken over by D'Simone and Rosenberg roughly three weeks ago. While Lorenzo's is new to the area, this isn't the first venture as a pizzeria owner for D'Simone. "I was an owner in Massapequa, I had my own place," he said. "I closed that down, I met up with this guy [Rosenberg], he owns a lot of Ralph's [Italian] Ices, and he did a Lorenzo's in Deer Park." St. James Resident Opens N. Babylon Red Mango

The location is the seventh franchise for the 24-year-old.

The North Babylon Red Mango, which had its grand opening Saturday, is St. James resident Samantha Goldsmith’s seventh franchise location. Even more impressive than the businesswoman’s success, is her age. At 24 years old, Goldsmith is the frozen yogurt brand’s largest multi-unit owner. She's smart enough to know that there's not enough business on Lake Ave to be gained. As much as I would like to see stores open on Lake Ave the cost of opening and operating one of these franchises is way too high to make money at it here in town.   more ›
