A Statement From Daniel White on Head of The Harbor Elections

Dear Friends:

Tonight, Theresa O’Brien came within twenty votes of being elected as Trustee of the Village of Head of The Harbor.  Doug Dahlgard won handily as Mayor, followed by Gordon van Vechten as Trustee, and then incumbent Trustee Judith Ogden.  Vox Populi Vox Dei – the people have spoken.  But their words resonate.  Doug will give up his seat as Trustee to step up to Mayor.  Who will be appointed to fill the vacancy?  We think tonight’s results provide the answer.

For The Box Party, I would like to thank Theresa for coming forward with a message that resonates with our neighbors in this village.  And we will not wait until the next election to press our unremarkable message that government is “for” the people; that every resident, visitor, and representative of the Village deserves to be treated with courtesy and respect; and that in every encounter with Village government, no matter what the outcome, the citizen should feel that he or she was treated fairly; professionally; and with respect.

We look forward to working with Mayor Dahlgard and his team to achieve these goals, and to assist not only in running a well-functioning government, but to promote a sense of neighborliness; of sharing our appreciation of this incredible Village; of making our response to whatever Nature dishes out robust, flexible and dynamic. Speaking for you, friends and supporters, I am quite sure you do, and will, as well.

We also thank you for your support, your encouragement, your time, and your vote.

We are not going anywhere.  Tomorrow, we continue to work together to make things better.  For you.  For us.  For the Village.

                                                                                                For The Box Party,

                                                                                                Daniel W. White
