Revitalization at the Smithtown Historical Society

Members of Boy Scout Troop 888 have worked diligently this year to plan detailed Eagle Scout construction projects to help improve the grounds of the Smithtown Historical Society.  Today's event marked the completion of one of several that have been carried out in recent months by ambitious young men in the troop, including today's leader Quinn Sengstaken.   Quinn designed and supervised the building of a kiosk that will display information about the structures and sites on the grounds of the Historical Society. Other dedicated members of the troop who have completed recent projects include Antonio Perciavalle and Dan Darsillo.  Antonio reconstructed and repainted a large gate and improved the scenic appearance of the land surrounding it and Dan built a wheelchair ramp to improve accessibility, while also revitalizing the adjacent walkway that leads to one of the historic buildings. On behalf of those who visit the Smithtown Historical Society, we thank Troop 888!
