As soon as you walk in the door to Modern Pinball NYC, you feel the excitement. They have over thirty different themed pinball machines, ranging from The Simpsons to Family Guy, Addams Family, Punchy The Clown, Star Trek, The Wizard of Oz, World Cup Soccer and so much more.  And you can play all of them! With their unique admission program, you can choose to pay for an hour, three hours or pay for the whole day and come and go as you please.  Once you are in, all games are free play-- no coins needed!

We spent at least two hours at Modern Pinball NYC, and could have spent two more. The choices of what to play are so varied, that you want to try them all.  After half an hour, we each had a favorite.  I loved seeing my boys experience playing a game that they could touch and feel-- so much different than the video games that they play at home.   And it was great not to have that sad let down when your last ball was done--- because you could just play again.  This was GREAT for my kids, it kept them happy and entertained and really excited to try different games.

Modern Pinball NYC also has a 'master restorer' on staff, who is busy maintaining these incredible machines to keep them going all day.  My boys loved seeing the inner workings of a pinball machine when one was opened for repair.  They were amazed at what goes on underneath the game.  For them, this cool view was an added bonus.

Although we went with our kids, this place is fun for everyone.  You definitely do not need kids to go!  If you love pinball, this place is a dream come true.  But even if you are not a pinball enthusiast, the fun and nostalgia of Modern Pinball NYC will appeal to you.  This would definitely be a fun date night!  They also host unique events and even offer party packages. And did I mention that you can actually BUY a pinball machine?

One of the nicest parts of our visit was meeting and speaking with the owners, Steve Zahler and Steve Epstein.  They could not have been friendlier or more enthusiastic about the interactive showroom.  They are passionate about pinball and that is what makes this place so much fun. When I asked Steve Zahler about the planning stages of Modern Pinball, one thing he said really resonated with me. A father himself, he said "I wanted to make sure it was a place that I could take my kids."  And it is.  It is a great place! It is a place for everyone to have fun and make memories.  We can't wait to go back!
