5 Events to Hit This Week

Need something to do during the downtime this week? Check out these local events.

The Smithtown Township Arts Council and Apple Bank on Route 111 have come together to show off the art of Toni Raiten-D'Antonio. You can check out the work at the bank from Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., Friday from 9 a.m. - 7 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Take a trip to the Mills Pond House this week to check out art from local kids and from kids in neighboring school districts. Gallery hours are from Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., Saturday-Sunday from 12 p.m. - 4 p.m.

Take a trip with the Nesconset Branch of the Smithtown Special Library District on Tuesday to see floral competitions, the world’s largest lettuce wall, and more by roughly 60 professional landscapers, florists and horticultural and educational organizations in Philadelphia. Bus departs at 7 a.m. and is set to return at roughly 7:30 p.m.

Head over to the Ghada Girls Belly Dance Studio to take a free beginners Belly Dancing and Tahitan Hip Hop class. The class is set for Wednesday at 2:30 p.m.

Admission to the art exhibit, taking place March 7-26, is free and features landscapes, portraits and still lifes. The reception is set for March 10 from 1-3 p.m., and is open to people of all ages.
