5 Local Events to Hit This Week

Check out what events are happening during the week locally.

Monday

Do you have a kid ages 7 - 9 that is an aspiring artist? Bring them to the Smithtown Township Arts Council in St. James starting Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for classes that will help them refine their skills as an artist. The program is $325.

Tuesday

Are you a "Real Housewives of New York City" fan? If so you could head over to The Wine Guy on West Main Street in Smithtown and meet her, maybe get yourself an autograph and a photo too. Event starts at 5 p.m.

Wednesday

For $3 you could hang out with a baking coach at the Nesconset Branch of the Smithtown Special Library District and learn how to make your own home-made ice cream.

Thursday 

To help your kids beat the summer heat bring the to Hoyt Farm Nature Preserve in Commack to cool off in the water playground, which opens at 11 a.m.

Friday

Are you a fan of wine? Head over to The Wine Guy on West Main Street in Smithtown on Friday at noon for free tastings.

"Why are Smithtown teachers continuing to pay for school supplies out of their ownRead More pocket?" Since when? Ever see the big list of supplies kids get in their folders at the end of the year for them to bring in next year? I think you're talking about the wrong school district.
