5 Local Events to Hit This Weekend

Check out what activities are going on this weekend locally.



Come join other locals in the Nissequogue River Canoe Trip on Saturday, put together by the Smithtown Recreation Department. If interested you need to be at the Paul T. Givens County Park between 8 and 9 a.m. People on the trip are set to return around 2 p.m. The trip costs $40 per canoe.

The Hauppauge-based studio presents "a grown-up story about growing up" in 13. Interested in seeing the performance? You could check it out Fridy and Saturday at 8 p.m., and Sunday at 3 p.m. Tickets are $20.

Interested in knowing more about the town’s most prominent residential architecture? Check out "History Behind Four Walls: Smithtown’s Historic Houses" this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Are you a fan of wine? Head over to The Wine Guy on West Main Street in Smithtown Friday and Saturday at noon for free tastings.

There's free sampling every weekend at the supermarket, as well as a live Italian singer every Sunday afternoon while you eat and shop.

"Why are Smithtown teachers continuing to pay for school supplies out of their ownRead More pocket?" Since when? Ever see the big list of supplies kids get in their folders at the end of the year for them to bring in next year? I think you're talking about the wrong school district.
