Event Spotlight: Sweetbriar's Wildlife and Nature Festival

Butterflies, wolves, and alligators – oh my!

 

Next Saturday, the Sweetbriar Nature Center is holding its annual Wildlife and Nature Festival.

Visitors can begin their day with a walk through Sweetbriar’s beautiful butterfly house filled with over 250 butterflies.

Along with butterflies, visitors can enjoy live animal demonstrations. You can meet a live arctic wolf, see an enormous alligator, or witness Brian Bradley fly his birds of prey.

According to Sweetbriar’s program director Eric Young, “For over twenty years Long Islanders have come in droves to enjoy animal presentations, craft vendors, children's crafts, face painting, and much more,”

In addition, there will be environmental displays, bird walks, a plant sale, music, and entertainment.

Price: $10 per family

          $3 per person for butterfly house
