Get Out: Tango Perfomances, Free Yoga for Kids and More

Bring the kids down to learn how to do yoga, catch a performance of classic Led Zepplin music or one of the final performances of Beauty and the Beast.

The weekend is quickly approaching so now is the time to plan what you are going to do – and Smithtown Patch is here to help. This weekend why not check out a sultry perfomance of the Buenos Aires Tango Dancers, bring your kids down to free storytime yoga or catch a screening of Nixon in China, originally performaned at the Met? Here's the aforementioned suggestions and more ideas to occupy your time in style this weekend.


Where/When: Staller Center for the Arts, Feb. 18, 8 p.m.
Why Go: Don’t let the fact that Valentine’s Day has passed return you to your normal routine. Keep the romance sizzling by catching a steamy performance of the Tango Buenos Aires Dancers.

Music of Legendary Led Zepplin
Where/When: Dix Hills Center for the Performing Arts, Feb. 18, 7:30 p.m.
Why Go: Check out this great performance of Led Zepplin music featuring performances by Bustling Hedgerow. Grab some friends and enjoy an evening rocking out to some classic Led Zepplin.
Pricing: $20, $25 or $30 tickets


Where/When: Borders of Stony Brook, Feb. 19, 11 a.m.
Why Go: Bring the kids down to Borders on Saturday for some fun story time and yoga.  Wee Warriors Yoga will be on hand to teach children various yoga poses while parents can browse for a new book or enjoy some coffee in the store’s café.
Pricing: Free


Where/When: Staller Center for the Arts, Feb. 19 1p.m.
Why Go: This week they will be screening Nixon in China, this is a unqiue opportunity to catch screenings of HD performances that were originally show at the Metropolitan Opera House. 
Pricing: $22 for general admission, $20 for senior citizens, $15 for students and children


Where/When: Smithtown Center for the Performing Arts, Feb. 18-27
Why Go: This show is coming into its last week of perfomances and this weekend is the perfect opportunity to catch the production of Beauty and the Beast.  Whether it be a date night or a family the event, the show is sure to please.
