Maple Sugaring
Where/When: Hoyt Farm. 200 North Highway, Commack on Sunday, March 6 from 1:30 p.m. - 3 p.m.

Why Go: Learn the process of boiling down fat from trees to make maple syrup then boil it down further to make maple sugar and the history of maple sugaring from the Native American time up through modern times.

Fun for Fours and Fives
Where/When: Smithtown Main Library, 1 North Country Road on Friday, March 4 from 2 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Why go: Parents enjoy some time to themselves as the kids enjoy story time unattended. For ages four and five.

Mother Goose
Where/When: Smithtown Main Library, 1 North Country Road on Saturday, March 5 from 10 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
Why go: Interaction between adults and children encouraged in this rhyme time for ages birth to 35 months.
Pricing: Free
Kings Park First Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Where/When: Parade starts at Kings Park Memorial Field and ends at St. Joseph’s Church. Starts at 12 p.m. on Saturday March 5. For more information check out the Town of Smithtown website.
Why go: Get outside and enjoy marching bands, firefighters and more at this first annual parade.

Youth Art Showcase
Where/When: Smithtown Township Arts Council 660 Route 25A, St. James, March 4, 5 and 6 – from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Friday and from 12 p.m. - 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Why go: Enjoy photography, painting and drawing as 300 pieces of student work from high schools across Suffolk County are exhibited.
