LAST CHANCE: 'Smiles for Stefani 5K' Set for Sunday

Local runners, there is an event you might be interested in set for Sunday where your love for running could also help the Smithtown Children's Foundation.

The "Smiles for Stefani 5k Run/Walk" is set for Sunday at 9 a.m. at the Smithtown Special Library District Nesconset branch, with registration starting at 7:30 a.m. Registration is $25 day of the race and the first 250 runners will receive a race t-shirt. 

The run was inspired by Stefani Felber, who at nine months old was diagnosed with a cancerous brain stem tumor, and after three years of chemotherapy and physical therapy has survived and is enjoying her childhood. Although Felber is doing well she still has the underlying presence of the tumor in her brain and is continuing to fight the battle against her brain tumor.
