The high school celebrates William Shakespeare's birthday.

Smithtown High School West students wrapped up April with a festival dedicated to a famous poet and playwrite.

West students used William Shakespeare’s birthday, April 23, to host the First Annual Shakespeare Festival. The theatre arts class and drama teacher Jim Brannigan put together the festival with performances, interactive displays, games and activities created by English classes. The events of the festival were related to the language and life of Shakespeare.
