Photos: Hundreds Attend Smithtown's Christmas Tree Lighting

The tree was lit Sunday on the Smithtown Library lawn.

There were three Christmas tree lightings taking place locally this past weekend with the one Sunday afternoon in Smithtown on the library lawn drawing a crowd of hundreds.

Included in the crowd at 4:30 p.m. were Legis. John Kennedy Jr., R-Nesconset, Assemblyman Michael Fitzpatrick, R-St. James, Town Councilman Robert Creighton and more. The tree lighting, presented by The Rotary Clubs of Smithtown, also featured gifts and entertainment by Walk FM as well as a number of classic cars for locals to admire.

Here are some photos from Sunday's festivities.

"Why are Smithtown teachers continuing to pay for school supplies out of their ownRead More pocket?" Since when? Ever see the big list of supplies kids get in their folders at the end of the year for them to bring in next year? I think you're talking about the wrong school district.
