PHOTOS: Is This Long Island's Most Haunted Site?

Urban legend calls this Mary's Grave, but is this Head of the Harbor structure something to fear?

Search for Long Island's most haunted structures on Google and you'll find a small stone structure at the beginning of Harbor Road in Head of the Harbor, just a few feet from the benches at .

According to lore it's called Mary's Grave, a site tied to a series of grisly stories about a woman supposedly named Mary who met her end somewhere on Long Island. Some say it was at this structure in Head of the Harbor, though other stories tie her to different haunted places on Long Island. There are only legends, though, and little verified info out there.

One woman we spoke to who was walking by the site this week said she did not know what the stone hut's history was, which from the looks of it seems more like it played some role as a piece of infrastructure than as a cottage. Though another person knew well about the site's ghostly claims and remembered driving by the structure at night when he was a teenager, out to get a scare with friends.
