PHOTOS: Osprey's Nest at Short Beach
The nest sits beautifully atop a telephone pole at the Nissequogue beach.
One of the best nature sights of summer in Smithtown is the osprey's nest atop a telephone pole at Short Beach in Nissequogue. The nest is overwhelmed with earth tones with slight bits of bright yellow, blue and red mixed in – a great compliment to a cloud-filled blue summer sky. While the sun wasn't beaming and the sky was gray for the photos in this set, the nest is still beautiful enough to stand out on its own.
