Residents Speak on Black Friday Shopping

Locals don't enjoy the shopping experience and find ulterior ways to save on purchases.

This week's Glocal question: What are your thoughts on Black Friday shopping?

"I did it once, I went shopping and people were very aggressive and running around and it was just a mess everywhere. I got up at six in the morning, I got up to get a very special present for my daughter, and I don't enjoy shopping with the people, I just don't like it. I felt like it was just a crowd of people in the isles and people crashing into each other and I just don't like it. My first and last time for Black Friday–thank God for Internet shopping."

"I never go shopping on Black Friday, never. It's just a crazy day of running and shopping and there are just too many crowds and just too many people for me. I like to shop when I'm relaxed and I like to spend my day relaxing with my family on Black Friday."

"I think it's a waste of time. I'm usually spending that day off with my family still. I have that day off and take advantage of the time I can spend with my family, and I can't stand beating the crowds in stores, it's always crazy."

–Fran Holtzman

"I did it once when my kids were young and I think Toys R Us was having some special sale on some toy and I'll never do it again, it's not worth it."
