Smithtown Cheer Coaches Launch Nesconset Training Center

Kristen Perri and Shari Tarburton, open Cheer360, a facility dedicated to preparing cheerleaders physically and nutritionally for the sport.

Whether you consider cheerleading a sport or an activity, the level of athleticism required has certainly been upped a few notches in the past few years and two Smithtown School District cheerleading coaches are focused on getting cheerleaders as in shape as any other student athlete.

Kristen Perri, a varsity cheerleading coach at West, and Shari Tarburton  a health and physical education teacher for the district and a cheerleading coach at East, run Cheer360, a facility in Nesconset dedicated to getting cheerleaders physically and nutritionally fit for the sport.

The pair recently told Fios1 that the rise in popularity of competitive cheerleading is one of the reasons they opened Cheer360. Sessions there are open to teams and individuals and run an hour long. To see the entire video story on Fios1, click here.
