Smithtown Fire Department Announces Christmas Parade Route

The parade is set for Dec. 15.

The 33rd Annual Christmas Parade put together by the Smithtown Fire Department is set for Dec. 15, and the department has released the route it will take to entertain and greet the community.

The parade begins at 5 p.m. on Main Street and will end on Elm Avenue.

There will be three long stops along the route: first at Redwood Lane near the beginning of the parade, followed by a stop at Meat Farms and lastly close to the middle of the route on Central Road at Smithtown High School West.

There is a food drive for non-perishable items taking place during the parade as well at the three stops: roughly 5:15 p.m. at Redwood Lane, 6:30 p.m. at Meat Farms, and 8 p.m. at High School West.

I want to personally thank the Smithtown Fire Department for putting on this parade all these many years. It was always a big night in our house when our kids were little and now our grandchildren are loving it! Living on the street we do we always get blessed twice, coming and going. The FD are great neighbors who always let my son and his friends play roller hockey in the lot across the street when they were little (most places would chase you away!) they decorate the FD so nicely and make the neighborhood so festive. Not to mention when in need for EMT they are so faithful and prompt! Thank you Smithown FD!!!!!

I was wondering, who pays for the fuel in these vehicles for this fun outing?

Really Cathy are things that bad that people just can't enjoy a few happy hours w there families during the holiday season! Life is tough enough especially in light of the recent tragedy in CT give it a rest! We are paying for it as we pay for everything in life!

This should not be a problem getting passed. It is across from the hospital there is a nursing homeRead More near by. We need more nursing homes as there are no beds available for our aging population. If you want to stay here near your family as you age and need a nursing home in the future, let them build this. You do not want to go outside of Smithtown and live in nursing homes out of this area - trust me, they are not nice! It is a fact of life, we are all going to be there one day- at least have a say in it and have them build one for our future needs. They do not have much noise or activity- really. Plus they will bring jobs to our area.

Nick, North Country rd. is 25A. Northern Blvd. intersects 25A and runs all the way to Roseville.Read More Northern Blvd is a small street about 1 mile long that is one block over from smithtown HS East main entrance. It's a serious problem when most of the neighborhood walking to the HS will pass by this creeps house. It's a totally different Northern Blvd.
