Golden Oldies Concert To Support Courtney Sipes Foundation

Celebrate The Duprees' 50th Anniversiary at the Patchogue Theatre on Feb. 18 to support The Courtney Sipes Memorial Foundation.

Locals can enjoy the sounds of the 1950s and 60s while supporting a charity hoping to improve the safety of Smithtown's Main Street.

The Courtney Sipes Memorial Foundation will be honored and supported at the Golden Oldies Winter Spectacular at the Patchogue Theatre on Feb. 18 at 7 p.m. A portion of the sales and raffles will be donated to this local organization.

The concert will feature The Duprees, who sing "Have You Heard," "You Belong to Me," and "My Own True Love," as they celebrate their 50th anniversary. Other performances will include Kenny Vance and the Planotones, Lenny Cocco and the Original Chimes, Cathy and The Revivals, Johnny & Joe, Somewhere in Time, and La La Brooks, the original lead singer of The Crystals.

During the intermission of the show, Suffolk County officials will present The Courtney Sipes Memorial Foundation with a proclamation for all of its hard work.

The Courtney Sipes Memorial Foundation pays tribute to Courtney Sipes, Pines Elementary School student who was killed when hit by a driver high on heroin in November 2009.The foundation's members are fighting for changes to improve safety on Smithtown's Main Street, including, and aims to support children with interests and talents in music or arts with scholarships for programs, lessons and more.

For tickets, visit www.mickeyb.com or call 516-822-9612  information and special seating. Mention Kevin O'Hare's name while purchasing tickets to receive $5 off each ticket purchased. As of Jan. 16 night, there were approximately 100 tickets available for the show. 

Other annual fundraisers for the nonprofit organization include the Smithtown's 5K Running of the Bull held in October.
