This Week at the Library District: Learn How to Save With Solar Energy

This week the Smithtown Special Library District features events ranging from making use of solar energy to catching a movie or discussing a book over tea.

This week the Smithtown Special Library District is featuring a program that will not only benefit everyone attending but their wallets as well. With the rise in popularity of the use of solar energy, the library is featuring a program this week called Save with Solar Energy. This program will be led by representatives of Solar Dad & Sons of Smithtown who will teach everyone how to save money by making use of solar energy. They will also discuss options on how to increase the value of your home and help determine whether or not you will be eligible for receiving tax credits by any upgrades to your home. This is a great opportunity to both save money and help the environment by living a little greener. This program will be taking place on Wednesday, Feb. 23 at 7:15 p.m. in the Gillard Meeting Room of the Smithtown Branch.

Another program worth checking out this week is Renoir: Looking at the World Optomistically which is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 24 at 2:30 p.m. at the Smithtown Branch. Emilo Rabito Baer will be at the library discussing how Renoir always created happy, calm paintings. She will give a presentation on his works and also discuss how he, like many other people do, suffered from rheumatoid arthritis.
