Viewfinder: Hundreds Flock to Festival Day

Food, vendors, music, bouncy castles and belly dancers highlight the annual street fair.

Fairgoers, both young and old, flocked to Main Street in Smithtown on Sunday for the Smithtown Chamber of Commerce's annual festival day. This year more than 350 vendors filled Main Street for the annual event, including vendors selling crafts, corn-on-the-cob, ice cream, gym membrships, sporting goods and more. Not-for-profit organiuzations and other services also lined Main Street, including the Courtney Sipes Foundation, who was promoting their proposed changes to Main Street to increase pedestrian safety, as well as the New York Blood Center donation bus, whose table was helmed by Suffolk County Legis. John M. Kennedy Jr. Many area businesses also showed off their goods and services, holding drawings and giving out balloons to children.
