AMF Smithtown Lanes Reopen After Roof Collapse

The rumbling thunder of bowling balls striking pins can be heard echoing through AMF Smithtown Lanes. 

AMF Smithtown Lanes has reopened its doors for bowling for the first time since February, when the record-setting blizzard's caused the bowling alley's roof to collapse under the weight of the heavy snow.

As Smithtown voters prepare to go to the polls next Tuesday to cast the first of many votes in the 2013 elections, the future of Main Street hangs in the balance. 

Smithtown's Main Street is not only the geographic center where Town Hall stands, but also serves as its primary downtown area that – ideally – draws in shoppers from Commack, Hauppauge, Kings Park, Nesconset and other nearby towns.

A new yoga studio is heating things up in Nesconset. 

Family Tree Yoga & Wellnesscelebrated its grand opening in the Nesconset shopping plaza on Smithtown Boulevard this Saturday. After months of construction, the yoga studio has taken over part of the space formerly rented by the Nesconset branch of the Smithtown Special Library District. 

Smithtown West Lax Start Commits to Syracuse University

A Smithtown West teen has been recruited to play lacrosse for Syracuse University despite still having three years of high school ahead. 

Sophomore Danny Varello, a midfielder and faceoff specialist, made a verbal commitment to play Division I Mens Lacrosse for Syracuse University, TopLaxRecruits reports.
