Police: 4 Smithtown Home Burglaries in 4 Days

Suffolk County Police report that four homes in Smithtown and St. James have been struck by burglaries in less than a week. 

A Smithtown homeowner on Grassy Pond Drive South was first to report their home was robbed on Oct. 16. Police said the burglar entered the home through an unlocked sliding glass door to take a laptop computer that was visible through the door and stole jewelry. The property owner was not home at the time of the burglary. 

'Ghost Adventures' Filming Ghostly Happenings at Katie's in Smithtown

Swear you've seen some strange, ghostly happenings at Katie's of Smithtown? There's a hunt for evidence. 

"Ghost Adventures," a popular Travel Channel show, will be shooting on location at Katie's of Smithtown this week from Tuesday to Friday, Newsday reports. The popular Main Street bar will be closed Wednesday and Thursday as they hunt for two poltergeists. 

Del Fuego Finds Fresh Niche in St. James

Joseph DeNicola, owner of Del Fuego Tex Mex Kitchen and Tequila Bar, said his restaurant celebrated its second anniversary this Sunday thanks to a close ties built with the St. James community. 

New York Bully Crew Seeks Help For Hope

A Nesconset-based animal rescue is seeking the public's help to give a second chance at sight and a better life to Hope, a young abandoned pitbull. 

Craig Fields, a volunteer with the Nesconset-based New York Bully Crew that specializes in rescuing pit bulls, said the organization has started a Go Fund Me fundraiser for $3,000 in hopes of getting a former stray pit bull, named Hope, eye surgery to keep her from going blind. 

Mens Clothing Store Opening in Lake Grove this October

Destination XL will be moving into the Aldi shopping center in Lake Grove next month. 

The mens clothing retailer, who also owns Casual Male XL, has announced it will open its doors to customers at 137 Alexander Avenue in November.
