Dozens of customers flocked to a popular Smithtown salon on Friday morning to find their appointments canceled and seek returns on unused gift cards. 

T. Carlton's Spalon put up a handwritten note reading, "Sorry, we  are closed. We are going out of business," on its doors on Friday. 

Utility Pole Fire Closes Smithtown Library's Main Branch

The Smithtown Library has temporarily closed its Main Branch, located at 1 N. Country Road in Smithtown, due to a power outage. Patrons and staff were evacuated from the building at roughly 11 a.m. 

The Little Gym Bounces Down Main Street to New Location

The sound of children playing will soon fill a former yoga studio on Smithtown's East Main Street. 

The Little Gym of Smithtown is moving one-eighth of a mile east, relocating from 138 E. Main Street to  70 E. Main Street, taking over the former Hot Yoga Studio in the Village Commons shopping center. 

P. F. Chang's to Open in November

P.F. Chang's is slated to open Nov. 4 at the Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove.The Town of Smithtown's Board of Zoning Appeals voted unanimously last November to approve variances for the construction of the restaurant, next door to The Cheesecake Factory.

Dozens arrived at T. Carlton's Spalon in Smithtown on Friday morning to find the doors locked and a note reading "We are closed." 

News quickly spread about the popular hair salon and day spa's closures across social media networks, including Facebook and Twitter, evoking mixed emotional responses from former clients.
