Need rum for egg nog or a bottle of wine for a holiday dinner? Here are some local places to go.

With Hanukkah here and Christmas approaching you could start buying wine and liquor as gifts or planning for your activities that may involve having a drink or two, from after-hours celebrations with friends to dinners with family and more. Here are six places in Smithtown that could be your one-stop shop for you and your guests alcoholic beverage of choice.

Smithtown Wine & Spirits – This store is located at 67 Route 111 in Smithtown and is open Monday to Thursday from 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.,  Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m., and Sunday from 12-6 p.m.

Figari's Wine and Liquor – Figari's is located at 126 East Main Street in Smithtown and is open Monday to Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday from 12-5 p.m.

The Wine Guy – This store is located at 220 W Main St Smithtown and is open Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday from 12-5 p.m. 

Liquorium Wine & Liquors – Liquorium is located at 430 Route 25A in St. James and is open Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m., and Sunday from 12-5 p.m.

Liquor Corner – This store is located at 975 West Jericho Turnpike in Smithtown and is accepts American Express, cash, debit cards, Discover, MasterCard and Visa.

Grape Culture – This store is located at 248 Lake Avenue in St. James and is open Monday to Thursday from 9 a.m. - 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m., and Sunday from 12-6 p.m.

We can all make a statement one way or another when we vote. However, that statement should be madeRead More on a state level not the local level. Boards of Ed are powerless to do any real cost cutting. The state needs to take this on. We need real reform in Albany to reduce the ever increasing pensions and life long benefits that educators enjoy. Combine this with letting Albany decide salary increases for all educators and we can guaranty tax reductions over the next few years. Its that simple, Boards cannot do these. Lets get Albany to move on these NOW!
