Bowling Alley Renovation to Last 4-6 Months

Debris removal will take place this week.

After its roof caved in following a recent snowstorm that brought over two feet of snow to the area, AMF Smithtown Lanes is hoping to reopen its doors in four to six months.

According to a Newsday article, an AMF representative said the bowling alley will be "back better than it was before," after 11 roof trusses collapsed under the weight of heavy, wet snow.

In the meantime, about 500 bowlers in leagues have been displaced to lanes in Centereach and Commack, while over two dozen employees remain out of work.
