From Miller Place:  Expansion Ongoing At Marshalls Center

Construction is currently ongoing for an expansion on the western end of the Marshalls center building in Miller Place.

The construction began earlier in June, and there is nothing yet set in stone for the expanded piece.

From Port Jefferson: Chandler Square Space Ready for New Tenant [Empty in Port Jefferson]

A fresh coat of paint and new floors and ceilings await a new tenant at a storefront in Port Jefferson village, according to Realtor Maria Palmar, who represents Chandler Square.

The storefront, located at 106 West Broadway, is the former home of Port Jefferson Motorcycle Store, which moved a few months ago to a new space next to Starbucks on Main Street in the village.

From Hauppauge: Empty Burrito Joint Hungry For New Tenant

A storefront sits vacant within the Hauppauge Shopping Center along Smithtown By-pass as a former burrito restaurant awaits a new tenant.

The business was once home to a Mexican-style food shop that specialized in burritos, quesadillas, wraps, salads and more.

From Kings Park: Town Officials Reject Carlson Associates' Site Plans

Smithtown Town officials have rejected last-minute site plans submitted by a Kings Park developer in attempts to abide by court orders. 

Smithtown officials say Toby Carlson, of Carlson Associates, submitted site plans to the town's Planning Department by the court-imposed deadline of June 19, but the plans are ambiguous and lack necessary, Newsday reports.

Tucked away, just adjacent to Branch shopping center in Smithtown is a shop that draws the loyal hobbyists.

3 Guys Hobbies has been around for about 30 years, though not always in their current location. The store carries a host of different hobbyist pursuits but their main game is trains.

Tom, who has worked in the store on and off for 20 years said the store began with three guys and their love of trains.

From Three Village: SNAP Fitness Closes, Sends Members to World Gym Setauket

Members of East Setauket's SNAP Fitness location on Route 347 are now patrons at World Gym Setauket, after SNAP Fitness abruptly closed within the last couple of weeks. Signs in the windows of the former SNAP Fitness gym -- which has been emptied of its equipment -- call the move a "merger" that will "offer even more amenities and services to all members."

From Commack: A Grecian, Gluten-Free Dream at Commack's Greek Village

A gluten-free diet doesn't have to be a diet at all at Greek Village in Commack.

The local eatery boasts a menu of more than 50 gluten-free items including pitas, pizza moussaka, souvlaki platters, chicken gyros and more.

Owner Marino Frangomihalos said that the previous owners of the restaurant brought in the gluten-free menu about four years ago and it has been a hit ever since.
