Smithtown's Unique Burgers Honor Cheeseburger Day

Here's a list of creative and unique cheeseburgers local to help you celebrate National Cheeseburger Day.

It seems like American and cheddar cheese might be the go-to when it comes to burgers, but why stop there? 

Cheeseburger lovers have many places and reasons to celebrate National Cheeseburger Day on Thursday. It's a wacky holiday that pays tribute to one of America's favorite foods. 

For those who want to celebrate, here's our list of unusual and unique burger creations local to the Smithtown area: 


American Roadside Burger -  You'll find plenty of options from the traditional to the casual gourmet, but try the monthly special "Summer BBQ with a Twist" created by Laurieann before its gone.

It combines a beef burger with cheddar cheese, guacamole, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, BBQ sauce, honey mustard and bacon. It sounds delicious.

Croxley's Ale HouseIf you prefer your burger with a glass of beer, you might head over to Croxley's Ale House. 

Cheeseburger lovers can try their namesake "Ale House Burger" which features cheddar cheese, bacon, lettuce, onion and tomato all generously topped with Thousand Island dressing. 

Then, if you are willing to take a short drive...

Bobby's Burger Palace -  This restaurant squeezed into the corner of Smith Haven Mall presents 10 burgers crafted together by Iron Chef Bobby Flay. Try either the Miami Burger with pressed ham and Swiss cheese, pickles, mustard and mayo on a bun; or test your tastebuds on the Napa Valley Burger, which combines goat cheese, watercress and Meyer lemon honey mustard.
