While construction was wrapped-up towards the end of summer and the location has been open for months, the folks at Energy Fitness & Wellness in St. James decided Friday was the best time to formally reintroduce themselves to the public and show off the new location.
"When we first opened up we wanted to work the kinks out, we were going to let a few weeks go by … we wanted to put [this] together and let the town know we’re officially open," said Daniel Moreno, one of four owners of the fitness center.
A ribbon cutting ceremony is set for Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the new location of the fitness center, 555 Route 25A. Moreno said local political figures will be in attendance and the ceremony is open to the public.
Moreno said they fitness center has experienced more success since the move to a free-standing building across the street.
"[We have] a lot of new member, a lot of new faces, [and] the town has responded pretty well to the changes," he said. "Before we had a lot less room and ability to handle the extra services that we’ve been wanting to do for a while, so it’s good."
