Former Pet Store Up For Rent [Empty in Smithtown]

The 2,000 square foot former home of Pick of the Litter is now on the real estate market.

After closing following a fire in July of last year, Pick of the Litter on Smithtown's Main Street will not re-open, and the location is now up for rent.

The landlord, who did not provide his name, confirmed Friday morning that the pet store would not be opening for business again. He also stated the 2,000 square foot storefront located at 105 East Main Street was for rent, and there have already been several businesses interested in taking over the location. While he said there has been interest in the location, he said there is "nothing definite" with any possible suitors.

The landlord also said the location has only been on the market for a "couple months."
