LoPresti Dance Theatre Launches Kindermusik Classes

Kindermusik classes, designed for parents to bond with their children by creating music together, will begin May 4.

The LoPresti Dance Theatre in Nesconset will feature a new dance class for young children slated to begin May 4.

The program is called “Kindermusik with Miss Danielle,” and will be instructed by Nesconset transplant by way of Hauppauge, Danielle Sexton.

Kindermusik, according to the program website, dates back to 1978 and is for parents to help their children grow and use music as a foundation for learning, with over 7,000 licensed educators internationally.

“The whole idea of these classes is bonding with the parent, moving, singing, playing with instruments and enjoying music time together,” Sexton said. “Each family gets home materials when they take my class. We encourage them to make music at home, and make it part of their daily lives. Music really does wonders for the developing brain.”

Sexton, who has Bachelor of Arts in Music and Vocal Performance with a minor in piano from Westminster Choir College, has been licensed to teach these classes since 2001, and with “Kindermusik with Miss Danielle,” has now branched out as a business owner.
