Mancaves Coming to St. James

A store solely dedicated to rooms for men will open within the next month on Middle Country Road.

St. James will soon be the home to a new, unique business – Mancaves.

“Mancaves is going to be a store that provides man caves for people as well as build man caves for people … [with] anything really cool that has to do with your home,” said owner Dan Silberman.

Silberman said virtually anything could go in a man cave – a location dedicated to the wants of the man of the household where they could socialize and hang out with friends – from barbecue equipment to pool tables, home theatre equipment and more. The Mancaves owner said the man caves could both be indoors and outdoors.

This will be the first Mancaves retail storefront and will also be the home to a new warehouse for the company as they are moving everything to this location from their current Ronkonkoma warehouse.

Mancaves will be located at 801 Middle Country Road in the shopping center with Safelite Auto Glass and AAAA Tire, and should be open within a month, according to Silberman. Work began on the new storefront back in March.

Should be out of business by Thanksgiving. Who comes up with these business concepts?
littleShamrock July 05, 2012 at 08:53 PM
Ray, give it to Christmas at least, that way, no return policy.

I already have my own man cave. It costs me $40,000 a year too so unless it has something my mancave doesn't, like some really hot pole dancers for the single guys ;), then I don't think it'll last.

With the economy the way it is, who has this kind of disposable income? Great idea for another time.

Who needs to be single to watch a good pole dance?

Such negativity is not the American way! I wish the new owner the best in new venture. God Bless America and small business!

Some of you people are really negative. Its not going to be a store just for men... We are also a fireplace & stove dealer. As well as a party rental company featuring outdoor movie big screens. We will be able to cater to many needs for a family. Ray, as for your comment... I would like to see you construct a "new" business in this economy. Little Shamrock, as for your comment... We will be open for quite a long time.. We have started our business in 1999. We have a perfect track record to this date. I am sure you and your husband will appreciate the items that we will carry. We will also be focusing on what the big retail stores will not carry such as billiard tables, games, bars, gaming tables, home theaters, smokers, etc.. We have a broad line for everyone to enjoy. We are also a custom A/V Dealer & installation company DirecTV retail and commercial showroom and dealer, and more.. If anyone has anything negative to say or tbey would like to bash us personally please feel free to call me directly at 516-315-8510

Lisa, whats wrong with our location?
Mancaves July 10, 2012 at 10:08 AM
Slight delay in opening... We have to get rid of some stuff... Too much came over from our other warehouse.... Just being honest to avoid "new" negative comments. We are currently working on our new website. After every new job we complete we will be posting it in our site. Currently we are finishing Giorgio's in Calverton a 30 camera cctv system plus an 8 zone interior and incredible exterior audio system that would compare to a Disney park.

I'm excited for this store to open! Sounds like a great place to get gifts for all those hard to buy for men. Plus with all the empty stores in the area its nice to see some new life. Good luck Mancaves!! And "Boo" to all the negative comments.

Planning to do my basement, can't wait for a store like this to open. Web site mancaves.us has a lot of product that I'm looking for. Will be looking forward to the grand opening.
