New Pet Groomer Coming to Smithtown Main Street

A new pet grooming business lies ahead in the future of Smithtown Main Street.
The windows of 59 W. Main Street announce "Grooming Alternative," a pet grooming and cleaning business, will be celebrating its grand opening on Dec. 1.
Work is quickly getting underway to transform the retail store as cans of paint line the storefront's window.
It's a change Smithtown's Main Street Psychic didn't seemingly predict. The lower-level of 59 West Main Street was formerly a psychic shop offering Tarot card readings.
The freestanding building was put up on the market for sale in spring 2012 at an asking price of $379,000, according to MLSLI.com. In addition to the storefront the building has three upstairs apartments, including a one-bedroom, a two-bedroom and a studio. The building also has a 1,000 square foot basement.
