New York Jets Playoff Success Spurs Food and Drink Specials Locally

Bars and restaurants around the community are ready for the AFC Conference Championship game Sunday where the New York Jets will face off against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The AFC Conference Championship game against the Pittsburgh Steelers is the final obstacle the New York Jets must face to get to Superbowl. Come game time, local bars and restaurants are offering drink and food specials all night long.

The staff at Blacksmith Tavern won’t be hard to spot, as they will all be wearing Jets jerseys. The tavern is offering half price appetizers and free touchdown shots, and will be giving away beer t-shirts and memorabilia. Also available will be 25-cent chicken wings, $2.50 Coors Light Drafts and buckets of five Miller Lights for $12. They are also offering one hundred ounce beer taps of Coors Light at your table for $18. If and when the Jets win there will be free shots at the end of the game.

"If you come to Blacksmith's you can expect great food, great fun and an unbelievable staff. It's the next best thing to being at the stadium," said Joe Donofrio, owner of Blacksmith Tavern.

Also adorned with Jets jerseys is the staff Rockwell’s Bar and Grill one game night. There will be Coors Light Drafts for $2.50 and $15 buckets of five full size beers including Bud, Bud Light and Miller Light. As far as food goes there will be 25-cent chicken wings, a $6 burger platter and a $7 Philly cheese steak platter. There will also be free touchdown shots, and if they Jets win free round of shots. They are also offering football boxes.

East Main Street's Napper Tandy's will have the game broadcasted from 32 HD television sets and two large projection screens. T o quench the fans' thirst, the bar will have $8 beer pitchers, $11 Coors light buckets and $3 Miller Light aluminum pints.

At Katie’s of Smithtown, all drinks will be $1 off and Miller Lights will be $3. They will be giving away t-shirts, buttons and key chains and there will be free touchdown shots.

“People should come to Katie’s because of the warm, comfortable atmosphere. We have outdoor heaters and the game will be played on the PA system at over 3,000 watts,” said owner Brian Karppinen.

At Faraday’s, drink specials include $3.50 for top shelf drinks, $3 pinot gregio and cabernet wines, $2.50 domestic bottles of beer and $3 pints of Stella, Guinness, Bass and Blue Point. Food specials include half price appetizers, $6 burger platters and $16.95 marinated shell steak.

Famous Dave’s will have Happy Hour all day on Sunday. This will include half price appetizers, two-for-one draft beers and two for one well drinks.

“We have a family friendly atmosphere and we’re a good place to watch the game,” said Al Hank, manager.

At Foster’s Grill, you can get 100 chicken wings for $66, 75 wings for $64, 50 wings for $36 and 35 wings for $20. You can also get combinations of wings and sliders – 25 wings and 12 sliders will go for $29 and 60 wings with 24 sliders will be $64.99. There will be a special of $10.99 for anything from numbers 1-7 on the grill menu – this includes a chicken sandwich, a Philly Cheese Steak, Buffalo Chicken Sandwich a Fish Sandwich and much more. You can also get a California Chicken Sandwich for $11.99. All beers will be $2.
