PHOTOS: Fans Rush Modell's for Giants Championship Gear

Immediately following the Super Bowl fans of the New York Giants swarm Modell's for t-shirts, hats, towels and foam fingers.

It didn't take long for New York Giants fans to get in their cars and head to the nearest sporting goods store for Super Bowl XLVI champions gear.

As time ran out and confetti fell on the heads of Eli Manning, Victor Cruz, Justin Tuck, Jason Pierre-Paul, Mario Manningham and the rest of the Giants, fans by the hundreds rushed to Modell's in Centereach for t-shirts, hats, towels and foam fingers, items that boldly proclaimed their team as Super Bowl XLVI champs.

A parking lot usually pitch black with all stores in the shopping center closed was lit by headlights of rows of cars and the interior lights of Modell's, which stayed open until 2 a.m. The line to check out spiraled to the center of the store with another line backed up to the parking lot of customers trying to get in.

For fans that missed out there's no need to worry as a store employee said the store will receive more Giants championship merchandise throughout the week.

We can all make a statement one way or another when we vote. However, that statement should be madeRead More on a state level not the local level. Boards of Ed are powerless to do any real cost cutting. The state needs to take this on. We need real reform in Albany to reduce the ever increasing pensions and life long benefits that educators enjoy. Combine this with letting Albany decide salary increases for all educators and we can guaranty tax reductions over the next few years. Its that simple, Boards cannot do these. Lets get Albany to move on these NOW!
