Republic Ultra Lounge Opens on Main Street
Downtown Smithtown's nightlife gets a new addition.
A new bar and lounge has sprung up overnight in Smithtown.
Republic Ultra Lounge celebrated its grand opening on Smithtown Main Street on Saturday, making it the newest addition to Smithtown's nightlife.
Republic celebrated its grand opening as a Latin night. The party was open to those age 21 and up with a dress code of "dress to impress." Flyers advertised $5 drinks with $100 for VIP bottle service.
The night club is located at 43 East Main Street, the former storefront of The Artful Dodger. Its previous occupant, in business for a bit over a year, suddenly closed in August without giving any notice of its departure.
The East Main Street storefront has seen its fair amount of problems in recent years with an electrical fire causing severe damage in January 2012, after the former nightclub Molly Blooms had closed.
