Sertinos Cafe Now Vacant After 1 Year [Empty in Smithtown]

The cafe closed, leaving another empty storefront on Main Street.

Sertinos Cafe took over the former home to Sizzler on West Main Street in Smithtown in August 2011 and doors closed this past October.

The official closing date was Oct. 28.

Via the Sertinos Cafe Facebook:

It's sad but true, after giving it a go for 14 months, the Smithtown location is closing its doors for good next Sunday, October 28th at 5pm. The community has been great and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all your support and patronage. Unfortunately though, we just didn't have enough volume and we never made any money. We tried to make things work and many of you helped us by spreading the word and we will never forget! Best wishes to all our loyal customers!

Craig Lowenthal, owner of the now closed eatery, said two potential partners emerged after his Facebook posting, but the partnerships fell through.

We'd like to know what you would like to see fill the now vacant storefront. Let us know in the comments.

We can all make a statement one way or another when we vote. However, that statement should be madeRead More on a state level not the local level. Boards of Ed are powerless to do any real cost cutting. The state needs to take this on. We need real reform in Albany to reduce the ever increasing pensions and life long benefits that educators enjoy. Combine this with letting Albany decide salary increases for all educators and we can guaranty tax reductions over the next few years. Its that simple, Boards cannot do these. Lets get Albany to move on these NOW!
