Smithtown Hot Yoga has rolled up its mats and packed its heaters to move across town to the former Nesconset library site, leaving a cold storefront up for grabs.
Smithtown Hot Yoga held its last classes in Smithtown's Village Commons in March after sending out an email to regular clients and yoga practitioners. In a March 1 email, the yoga studio's ownership stated they were "operating at a loss every single month" since opening in the Smithtown location.
The studio announced plans to relocate to 694 Motor Parkway in Hauppauge, off exit 55 of the Long Island Expressway.
The owners later changed those plans to relocate to Nesconset, taking over the former Nesconset Public Library at 148 Smithtown Boulevard. This location is roughly 2.5 miles from its former home on Smithtown Main Street.
Prior to the being a yoga studio, the 70 E. Main Street storefront was previously home to Daffy's, a women's clothing store.
