So Have You Eaten at Moe's Yet?

Moe's Southwest Grill has landed in the greater Smithtown area with the with the and the . The result: Getting a burrito has never been easier in town.

But with the chain restaurant joining Chipotle, which opened in Hauppauge this year, and competing with the host of mom and pop Mexican eateries in the area, we're wondering how local's who have eaten there rank the chain's menu.

Cafeteria style Tex-Mex doesn’t work for me, it’s expensive for the portion sizes and there’s no atmosphere at all. Went there once with a $2 coupon, its not likely that I'll ever do it again.

Went a couple days ago. The food was pretty good and the price wasn't bad (got myself and my daughter dinner for under $10), but they need to get their sh*t together. I know they just opened but there is no excuse for not being able to keep track of people and food. I was 3rd in line and they took my order before they asked the first 2 people in line. They made my daughters food, set it aside to make mine and by the time mine was done they had lost my daughters food and had to remake it. We then get home and not only is both of our meals in the bag, but now we also had someone else's food in the bag. Also, it is impossible to hear them talking behind the counter; had to yell "What?" at least 5 times.

The process of ordering food was too chaotic for me at this location, even with less staff the one in Commack seemed to do a better job. The food is mostly over priced, but what really got to me was not being able to finish my order as they had taken it, wrapped it and tried to put it in with someone else's food before I could progress down the line. 7 dollars for one tortilla filled with cheese and a few tiny pieces of tomato... They also gave me the scrapings of the bottom of the chip dispenser 5 seconds before it was refilled instead of taking the time to wait for my order to be complete anyway and giving me what the meal came with. If you try this Moe's, make sure you keep an eye your order when it's being made and be very vocal about what you want. It may be a good idea to bring a megaphone. Oh, and this is just my opinion but those photos of celebrity impersonators on the wall are awful, what kind of decor is that for a place like this? LOVE for the BAJA GRILL.

BAJA GRILL has nothing to worry about ....Also try Vallarta Mexican Grill on corner of rt 111 and Vets , where 5 guys and Sweet Frog frozen yogurt is .. fresh made , no cafeteria style ...
