St. James Lumber Up For Sale

Both the property and business are for sale with a $1,800,000 price tag.

The 1.82-acre property at 547 Lake Avenue in St. James, now home to a long-standing lumberyard, could soon have a new owner.

St. James Lumber and the property it sits on are up for sale, first posted on the Multiple Listing Service of Long Island website on Nov. 5. According to William Garthe of Reliance Mortgage & Real Estate, the property and business is up for sale for $1,800,000, but could be sold to someone interested in using the land for something other than a lumberyard.

Garthe said the lumberyard is doing very well but the large property it occupies could be worth more than what the business currently brings in. Garthe added that offers for the property have been made since listed on MLSLI.

"Why are Smithtown teachers continuing to pay for school supplies out of their ownRead More pocket?" Since when? Ever see the big list of supplies kids get in their folders at the end of the year for them to bring in next year? I think you're talking about the wrong school district.
