Vandals Deface Former T. Carlton's Spalon

Bright colored graffiti marks doors and windows of once popular Smithtown hair salon and spa.

The shell of a former Smithtown hair salon and day spa is now permanently marred by bold graffiti.

One or more vandals spray painted the former T. Carlton's hair spalon off Nesconset Highway. The Smithtown spalon suddenly closed its doors on Aug. 2 without notifying many of its clients.

T. Carlton's large billboard sign posted off Nesconset Highway was marked with random swirls of bright green graffiti. A sign that greeted clients pulling into the driveway with "Welcome to T. Carlton's Spalon" is nearly unreadable due to green spray paint.

The spalon's doors facing the roadway are difficult to reach as a small evergreen tree was sliced in half, now lays covering the walkway. Bold orange graffiti is scrawled across the center of the salon's etched glass doors.

The main entrance into T. Carlton's off the back parking lot is also marred with blue graffiti that makes its way around the side of the building, along the outdoor brick patio. Potted plants that were uprooted from their containers lay abandoned on the bricks, their pots shattered along the walkway.

Suffolk County Police said they could not immediately find any reports of vandalism T. Carlton's Spalon and were not sure when it occurred.
