Verizon Store to Open Wednesday

The store manager says the location will be able to handle cellphone and FiOS Internet needs.

Local Verizon Wireless customers won't have travel to Lake Grove after Wednesday, when a Verizon Premium Retail store opens on main street in Smithtown.

Manager of the store Adam DeSantis said doors will be open at its 74 East Main Street location by 3 p.m.

According to DeSantis, the location will be able to open new lines for customers as well as upgrades, offer tech support and sell accessories. The location will also sell FiOS Internet service packages and offer training classes on all the phones and operating systems.

DeSantis said the store is still looking to hire more sales representatives.

Is this an actual Verizon Wireless store or an "authorized I look like I am Verizon Wireless but I only use their name to lure u in and screw u and there is nothing VZ wireless can do for u" store?? Just wanted clarification.

@Ammie,
I spoke with the manager and he said it's a Premium Store location, which could do all the things a corporate store could do but with a private owner. Not sure if that helps answer your question, but I will have a full profile on the business up as soon as I speak with the owner.

From what I understand "premium" retailers are independent from corporate Verizon Wireless. I had a problem with a phone I purchased from one of these stores that are in the middle of a strip mall, had 14 days to return/exchange it as per the contract they gave me, I was at the 13th day of my contract and that store would not honor it and corporate Verizon could not help me. These "premium" retailers are made to look like corporate stores, but they are independent and can make up their own rules and there is not a thing corporate can do about it. Just trying to make the public aware of these "scammers".

Oh Peter! I just took a better look at the photo you posted. It is one of those independent retailers. If I were people I would steer clear from any of them because they are not the same as corporate. I would rather drive to Lake Grove and deal with VZ Wireless directly. If you have a problem with your phone purchased from one these stores you are on your own. Thanks for taking the time to listen to me. Enjoy your holidays!!

The Patch really should do an article about this. So many people are misinformed about these "authorized premium retailers". And AT&T isn't any better.

Assisted living is a good thing - they are not filled with drunken people, loud music....noise!!Read More Sit in a parking lot of an assisted living you will see that first they are not filled with cars. Honestly, having been through the system with parents and relatives, it is sad what happens to some of the people at assisted living or nursing homes. Relatives just drop them off and never visit. You'll get the occasional visit on maybe Christmas or Mothers / Fathers day, but for the most part they get very little foot traffic. And the people that work there tell the same story. But it is quiet. I would prefer an assisted living over a catering hall any day of the week.

You are absolutely right pj. Its comparing apples to oranges. Assisted living is for the elderlyRead More that cant take care of themselves. What noise is created. Exactly. Don't see a problem having it. Many of them don't even go outdoors.
