Video: Sertinos Cafe Begins Construction

Sertinos Cafe, the new eatery taking over the vacant Sizzler location, is currently under construction. Owner Craig Lowenthal provided a tour of the location.

Construction is underway on Sertinos Café, a hybrid, casual eatery that is taking over the former home to Sizzler, which closed late last year, at 133 West Main Street.

Owner Craig Lowenthal, the first person to bring the Portland, Oregon based company to New York, said construction is on schedule and he expects to open to the public on or around August 1.

Some of the features Sertinos Café will offer are a see-through fireplace, a new main entrance located in the rear of the store close to the train station, a conference room with sliding doors and shades that can be dropped for a private meeting, and more.

Lowenthal said signs for the location should be up on May 24, the same day he will face the Board of Zoning Appeals to get outdoor seating approved.
