Flurry of Retail Activity for Smith Haven Mall

On the heels of a successful 2013, which brought a number of retail concepts and eateries to Smith Haven Mall, visitors will have even more options for shopping new beloved brands as well as another dining destination making its New York debut at the property.   

“Through these retail additions, we will be offering the latest on-trend ready-to-wear apparel and accessories, baseball team gear and memorabilia for the pinstripes’ fans, indulgent beauty products and fragrances and a  restaurant option you won’t find anywhere else in the state,” said Ashley Jacobsen, director of mall marketing and business development for Smith Haven Mall. “We think these new arrivals are sure to impress shoppers and please even those with the most discriminating tastes.”

Recently opened on February 3, Bahama Breeze brings the feeling of an island escape to Smith Haven Mall with the food, drink and vibrant atmosphere of the Caribbean.  Located at the corner of Middle Country Road and Alexander Avenue, the restaurant is known for fresh, delicious seafood, distinctive chicken dishes and flame-grilled steaks, accompanied by refreshing, hand-crafted tropical drinks including Legendary Island Cocktails - authentic custom-made drinks sourced from world-famous locales and created with the same techniques and ingredients that made them famous.  Bahama Breeze offers approximately 7,000 square feet of dining space and serves lunch and dinner daily beginning at 11 a.m.

Fans of the New York Yankees, arguably the most popular sports franchise in the world, will find everything from apparel to memorabilia and branded novelty items at the new Yankees Clubhouse, which recently opened on January 18. This official store of the New York Yankees features licensed jerseys, hats, books, bobble head collectibles, baseball cards, DVDs and memorabilia for followers of the franchise known for its record-setting number of world championships and signature navy-blue pinstripes.   Shoppers can also obtain individual game tickets and Yankee Stadium Tour tickets at the 1,685 square-foot location in the Sears wing.

Shoppers in search of major fashion trends without breaking the bank will find the best of both worlds at Charlotte Russe, which recently opened on January 31 in the Sears wing. Named after the delicious French dessert, Charlotte Russe began its sweet journey in 1975 with the first store opening in Carlsbad, California. Putting a spotlight on women in their teens and early twenties, the brand provides access to major fashion trends at value-oriented prices. The 6,000 square-foot store at Smith Haven Mall will feature its line of signature ready-to-wear apparel and accessories including the proprietary Charlotte Russe and Refuge brands.

For a truly pampering beauty experience, shoppers will enjoy the line of luxurious products offered by L’Occitane when it opens a 900 square-foot location near Center Court in March. Taking inspiration from the Provence region in France where the company was founded in 1976, L’Occitane features high quality beauty solutions, including its signature skincare, bath and body treatments, fragrances and hair care, developed following the principles of phytotherapy and aromatherapy. The company strives to use high-quality, traceable, natural ingredients, which are carefully selected for their effectiveness and ability to give skin the elements it needs to be beautiful.

The Justice store at Smith Haven Mall will be incorporating a brand new concept, BROTHERS, which is tailored specifically to teen/tween boys.   Boys want to be outfitted for exploration with merchandise that fits their style and sense of expression. One of the most popular and fastest-growing U.S. retailers of all-natural, non-fat frozen yogurt and smoothies, Red Mango will soon assume space at Smith Haven Mall in the Food Court. Fans of the award-winning frozen yogurt can indulge without guilt, as it is packed with calcium, protein and live and active cultures. Featuring a self-serve bar, patrons can get creative with toppings including market fresh fruit, healthy granola and nuts, tasty cheesecake bits, yummy yogurt chips and even Fruity Pebbles® or Cap 'N Crunch® cereal.
