Longtime Smithtown resident and former Huntington Station business owner Herbert Geerdes has died. He was 86 years old.
According to a Newsday obituary, the former Smithtown resident who lived in Riverhead at his time of death passed away on Nov. 24. Geerdes, the former owner of W & H Auto Service, was the husband of 66 years to Joan, father of Jeanne Cassenaar, Judith Heffren and Patricia Zaremba.
Visitation is scheduled for 7-9 p.m. at the Branch Funeral Home, with the funeral service set for Tuesday at 8 p.m. at Branch.
