Local Cabinet Maker Finds Home At Bull Run Farm

Glenn Schneider set up his cabinet making shop in what used to be a roadside farm stand.

Bank a left or a right off North Country Road and you are easily reminded that St. James and the surrounding area still holds rustic roots and country charm.

Local cabinet maker Glenn Schneider found the peace and charm of an unused farm stand known as Bull Run Farm the right locale to hang his shingle.

The quaint cottage was once a farm stand, about 20 or so years ago said Schneider. A few years ago he was doing a bath remodel for the owner who the asked Schneider if he would renovate the cottage into an apartment. Schneider had a different idea.

"I asked him to let me use it as a work space," said Schneider who had been there a little over two-years.

He said he finds the space peaceful and is a fan of the commute.

"I live about 5 minutes from here. In the winter I can look out the window and see the horses staring right back at me," he said.

The stand, according to Schneider, used to be run by a local English teacher. Old signs still hang as a reminder of what was once there listing the local produce and pies for sale.

His faithful pooch, China, a rescue, hangs with him daily, and has a spot on the porch set up for napping.

"It's nice and rural over here," he said.
