Local Takes Home $35K from Winning Take Five Ticket

The winner is the first local to take home money from the New York Lottery this year after three did in 2012.

Smithtown has yet another New York Lottery winner.

The New York Lottery announced Rafael Ventura took home $34,782 on Take Five with a ticket purchased at Card And Gift, located at 22 Wheeler Road in Central Islip.

This past December, Smithtown resident Eric Lazarus won $55,529 from Take Five during the Christmas day drawing.

Ventura is the first local to take home money from the New York Lottery in 2013 after three locals were victorious in 2012: Lazarus in December, Lawrence Millman won $10,000 during the Mega Millions drawing held in October, and Frederick Tate purchased a winning "Cashword Doubler" scratch-off lottery ticket and won $10,000 in August.
