Local Wins $10K in Lotto Scratch-Off

Frederick Tate won playing the game "Cashword Doubler."

A Smithtown resident is now $10,000 richer.

Frederick Tate purchased a winning scratch-off lottery ticket from , located at 975 West Jericho Turnpike in Smithtown in the Morewood Shopping Plaza. Tate played the New York Lottery game "Cashword Doubler."

Tate isn't the first local resident to take home a large sum of money from a lotto ticket – of Smithtown won $10,000 in New York Mega Millions back in July 2010,  of St James, won $11,494 on Take Five in October 2010, and  of Nesconset won $10,000 on Mega Millions in October 2010.

"Why are Smithtown teachers continuing to pay for school supplies out of their ownRead More pocket?" Since when? Ever see the big list of supplies kids get in their folders at the end of the year for them to bring in next year? I think you're talking about the wrong school district.
